I've started creating performances of my Les Starwarbles songs, in costume, because why not? I'm sure it will delight my enormous audience of nine subscribers, heh.

It feels awfully strange to have Thursday roll around without writing a new Star Words entry! In case you're feeling the same about not having a new one to read, I figured I would pop in and point toward some of my other Star Wars-related work.

First off, if you didn't already know, I've been crossposting these entries on both Livejournal and Dreamwidth. The list of tags is a little easier to spot for the Dreamwidth account, right there in the left sidebar.

I have written many, many essays about the films, too many to link to, but if you follow the "star wars" tag back before March of 2017, you should be able to find them pretty easily. Yes, I've spent nearly two years on my Star Words series. Whew.

There is also heaps of fan fic, which can be found under the fan fiction tag. It's mostly Star Wars, but there are a few Harry Potter ones thrown in there. Also, I've posted a few more recent fics here.

Then there are my videos. At that link you can find my semi-serious piano solos, and my completely absurd one-woman renditions of the saga. Here is a playlist of the fan videos I've edited, unlisted because the crummy quality is kind of embarrassing. (The only way I could figure out how to get the footage was by pointing my camera at the screen as the movies played. "Ripping" the footage sounds terribly ominous and illegal....)

Also, here is Les Starwarbles, a rendition of all six films set to the music of Les Miserables. (which is unlisted because I was a little paranoid about sharing my shaky vocals with the world. After One-Woman Star Wars, though, I wonder if I might as well make it public. Partly because it's clear I have no shame after all, and partly because I've realized that slightly less than the entire world is likely to visit my tiny little channel). Anyway, if it can provide amusement for even one more person, hooray for that!

Last of all, I have a more official blog I've set up as an aspiring writer. The topics are largely a broader exploration of the sci-fi and fantasy genres, as well as my own work, but Star Wars does show up from time to time.

And that's more than enough self-promotion for now. Thank you all for reading, commenting, and sharing your love of the saga!

Last episode is up, leaving me with the bittersweet feeling I always get from finishing a project I've spent months and months of work on. Well, I'm pretty proud of what I've accomplished, silly geekiness and all. :D

The second-to-last episode is up. Surprisingly, it's my shortest so far. Second shortest is Episode I, then IV, then II. Not sure why their lengths ended up that way. Not at all surprised, though, that Episode III is the longest. The other episodes have between eleven and thirteen songs. III has eighteen. Yeah. And most of them are super-angsty ones in the second half of the story. Yup.

Here's the fourth installment. I'm just having a ridiculous amount of fun with this. I'd worry about what I'm going to do with myself once this is done, but I'm 100% sure I'll find some other obsessive hobby to eat up all my time, probably also Star Wars-related. :D

Um, so, less than two weeks later...it's done. Now I've sworn up and down that I won't touch iMovie until all the original trilogy songs are written. Yeah, we'll see. This is astonishingly addictive.

The second episode is up, showcasing some very weird duets and my heavy, heavy bias toward the romance plotline of AOTC. Since I still have lots of songs to write for Episode III, it'll probably be more than two weeks till the next one. That's a good thing...right?

I've been focusing on AOTC songs with the intent of creating the next Les Starwarbles episode, so here's two more. (The video would probably be done now if not for my rotten bronchitis messing with my voice, grrr.)

Here's the reason I haven't been writing and posting tons of new songs in the past week. I've been obsessively working on this video, pushing my amateur iMovie skills to the limit. Hooray! (Please excuse my voice; it's the only one I have to work with.) The other five episodes will be coming eventually, though I should probably take a break for now. Heh.

A few more for Episode III. Thus far it's all been from the ending, because that's where all the most intense emotional stuff shows up. But here's a few near the beginning...plus one more at the end. Yeah, I like the drama.

If I don't have a particular inspiration hit me for a new song, I just go and write something with lots of plot advancement to further my ultimate goal of writing ALL THE THINGS. So here's more for Episode I, picking up from where Invasion of Naboo left off. At the End of the Day gave me tons of material to work with...though it's ridiculously tricky to actually sing the words, considering the rapid-fire pace of the song...

From the beginning of this insane project, I was pretty sure which scenes I would use for One Day More, the vast, multi-part finish to Act I. It's perfect for a big battle sequence with lots of different voices. I decided to use it twice, for the Battle of Naboo and for the Battle of Endor.
