Cautiously pleased

Well, so far, pretty good. People are getting a bit hung up over the pregnancy/sickness timing, darn it, but there's a respectable number who are hooked. Even a male man of the gentleman persuasion! :) I'm bemused by those who think "demon-spawned" refers to the baby - oops. It's kind of just a curse people use in my world, and in this case Taira's meaning is "demon-spawned bad Fortune." I think that becomes pretty clear in later pages, but if it's really confusing people - "spawn" is after all associated with babies...evil babies...I should fix that. Well, the real test is when the Secret Agent comments. Gulp.

Yeah, if it's confusing that many people, I should probably change it. Too bad that the false promise of a demon-spawned baby is what hooks so many of them in the first place. ;P The funny thing is, the very next line Nara basically says that people are always blaming demons for their problems when it's perfectly plain what the real cause is...either that, or blaming the chieftain (Taira's father, you see.) But I was already slightly over 250 words, so I had to cut it off there.

Maybe...."Demon-spawned fortune," Taira retorted. Hmm.
