Happy Patriots Day!
Apr. 20th, 2009 09:14 pmHuh? What's Patriots Day? Oh, you haven't been to Massachusetts. It is ginormous. The re-enactment in Lexington, Paul Revere's ride (although any passionate history buff knows that Revere wasn't actually the one to finish the ride) and the Boston Marathon, among about five thousand other patriotic activities. A few years back we got up super-early for the re-enactment, and it was pretty cool, but I think we'll wait to do it again until the kids are old enough to appreciate it. Mostly, we get a day off. Actually, we get a whole week off - Spring Break is set to coincide with Patriots Day here, rather than Easter. That's how big the holiday is.
Then there's Pioneer Day in Utah. I don't recall any such holidays unique to Pennsylvania. Are there any days celebrated uniquely, with such fervor, in other states? It's a rather interesting phenomenon.
Oh, and I got my fourth rejection. I think my skin is starting to harden just a little. Maybe.

Date: 2009-04-21 02:03 pm (UTC)I'm holding onto a very tenuous bit of hope for the fifth, but mostly I've been going on a major agent-searching blitz. I think I added ten or more agencies to my list. A huge list has to increase my chances at least a little...right?
