Yes, yes, may the fourth be with you. What better what to celebrate than to post an entry...like I do every Thursday. :D
Obi-Wan's tracking device has allowed him to catch up with the Fetts at a ringed planet, where we have a nice nod to the asteroid chase from Episode V. Rather than rehash that rollicking sequence, though, we get a quieter chase. If we were talking about sound design, we could explore the use of silence to emphasize the sonic explosion (which is scientific nonsense, but who cares, that's been true since the very first film portrayed sound in the vacuum of space). But let's look at the visuals that accompany it.

Quite a striking effect. And then it sweeps out to disrupt everything in its circuit, leading to several narrow escapes for Obi-Wan.
This is also a scene to delight all the fanboys who wanted to see more action from the Slave I ship made famous when Boba Fett was first introduced. I've always found it fascinating how the hype around something could be so huge when Fett's role in the movie itself is rather small. We don't see his ship in battle, we don't see him engage in any significant fights, all we witness is his tracking skills. And they got this sense of Boba Fett as a totally awesome figure. Eh, whatever. To each their own. Myself, I'm delighted to learn why he was the only bounty hunter to figure out how Han was hiding the Falcon on the backside of the Star Destroyer:

Because Obi-Wan did it first.
Next time, the old homestead....
