A quiet scene before we get to Coruscant, deceptively simple. In fact, it's fraught with foreshadowing and visual parallels.

First we have Padmé's silent reaction to the dire message from Naboo.

Silent, but very expressive. And incidentally, the same bow of the head we saw from the Queen when troops invaded Theed.

Then she turns, sensing someone, and we see another expressive figure.

Again Anakin is framed as so, so tiny and vulnerable. And forlorn. Padmé goes to comfort him, and we get this strangely familiar pose.

At least, if you've seen Episode IV. Like parents, like children.


This is the sort of cinematic poetry that Star Wars abounds in. The more you see, the more you appreciate it. Lastly, this one:



A innocent trinket which will become a powerful, poignant symbol when it reappears in Episode III. *Sob* This story just kills me and I love it.

Next, the pomp and grandeur of a galactic capital....
