...and more of the same

Going along with my post from yesterday, I've heard the theory that like Books two and six parallel each other, so do Books 3 and 5, and theoretically Books 1 and 7, with GOF as the unique hinge in the middle. How much of the parallels are deliberate, I don't know, but I came up with a list for 3 and 5...I would be intrigued to do the same with 1 and 7, if it turns out that way.

OotP: Under the guise of a Disillusionment Charm, Harry travels to London (12 Grimmauld Place).

PoA: Harry first hears about Sirius Black.
OotP: Harry learns about Sirius's family and stays in his house.
PoA: Cornelius Fudge indulgently overlooks Harry's use of magic and gives him special treatment.
OotP: Cornelius Fudge vindictively tries to get Harry expelled and treats him with particular unfairness.
PoA: Harry first rides the Knight Bus.
OotP: Harry rides the Knight Bus again.
PoA: Harry meets Cho and starts to develop a crush on her.
OotP: Harry and Cho have an ultimatly disastrous relationship.
PoA: The DADA instructor is a werewolf who becomes Harry's favorite teacher.
OotP: The DADA instructor is someone who hates "half-humans" and becomes Harry's most hated teacher.
PoA: Harry first learns of the Marauders, Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, and realizes Sirius and Peter's true natures.
OotP: Harry sees the Marauders in Snape's memory and learns more about their true natures.
PoA: Harry receives private lessons outside of class from his favorite teacher, to protect himself against dementors.
OotP: Harry receives private lessons outside of class from his least favorite teacher, Snape, to protect himself against Voldemort's invasion of his mind.
PoA: Harry excels in his Patronus lessons and successfully fends off a hundred dementors.

PoA: Harry learns the Patronus charm.
OotP: Harry uses the Patronus charm against the dementors attacking him and Dudley, teaches it to the DA, and demonstrates his skill during his O.W.L.'s.
PoA: Harry loses a Quidditch match but ultimately helps Gryffindor win the Cup.
OotP: Harry wins a Quidditch match, but gets kicked off the team and cannot help Gryffindor win.
PoA: With the help of a magic flying creature, Harry rescues his godfather.
OotP: With the help of a magic flying creature, Harry tries to rescue his godfather but instead loses him.
PoA: Harry hears a prophecy referring to Voldemort from Professor Trelawny, which refers to an unnamed "servant" whose identity is ambiguous.
OotP: Harry hears a prophecy referring to Voldemort from Professor Trelawny, which refers ambiguously to the one who can defeat Voldemort.
PoA: Harry does poorly in his Divination exam and excels in his DADA exam.
OotP: Harry does poorly in his Divination O.W.L. and excels in his DADA O.W.L.
PoA: By the end of the book, we learn the "servant" refers to Peter Pettigrew, not Sirius Black.
OotP: By the end of the book, we learn that Harry is one to defeat Voldemort, though Neville could have been.
Whew! Well, that's all I can think of for now.
