Good stuff
Apr. 4th, 2006 10:21 pmJust got back from a stage reading of my husband's thesis play. It was quite nicely done. It was hard getting enough actors to do it - yes, he's attending a school chock full of acting students, but it's also getting into finals season - but he had just the right number to manage it, and all the actors really got into it. After, there was a discussion about what the play was saying, what kind of an impression it made, etc., and there were all sorts of positive comments, plus a good amount of constructive criticism. What really came across was the feeling that this was already a good play, that they were discussing it just like any play in an anthology or produced on Broadway. It's the most any play of my husband's has been produced, and it was a fantastic experience for him. I'm very pleased for him, and just a teensy bit envious - I'd love for my writing to be presented where it could receive so much feedback (and compliments, of course...I always like compliments :). Overall, though I'm just so happy and lucky to be married to be a sensitive, talented and creative man.
Oh, and very glad that he'll be home more often now that his thesis is largely completed. :D
