CREATURE (VO)
I have continued to follow your story, dear Maker. I know you have returned here, heavy with grief and pain over your brother’s death as well as the mental state of your friend who witnessed it. And you know I am responsible. Perhaps you have also recognized that I am capable of far more. I cannot help it. The loneliness and despair of my hateful existence will inevitably drive me to greater and greater extremes of violence – unless you prevent it. The prevention is very simple.

CREATURE
A mate. You will provide a companion for me, made in the same fashion. No human could ever overcome the natural disgust of me, but another of my kind? That, I believe, will finally end my wretched loneliness.

If you do as I ask, I swear to you, we will never trouble you, your family or any of humanity ever again. We will hide ourselves in a remote region of the world where humans never venture. We will not require the modern conveniences that humans need to supply their soft existence. We will have everything we need in the wild. And in each other.

(Face hardens) But if you refuse, I make no promises. Rage and violence will overtake me, and you will suffer the brunt of that blow. It is nothing less than just. If you deny me the simple happiness of companionship that so many humans enjoy and take for granted – yourself included – then you will find yourself stripped of happiness, of peace and even of sanity. You regret giving me life? That regret will be nothing next to what you will experience if you fail to grant me this demand.

I will continue to watch you, and wait for the right moment to deliver this footage to you. I will give you one week. Then I will have your answer.

I'm really enjoying this -- and now I'm totally spoiled for the novel, which I still haven't read (but that meant I was really surprised when he threw her brother into the ravine, NO!!) I do love the monster finding Tori's vlog -- I assume in the original he finds an MS? Finding a vlog is much more easy, actually -- I enjoy stories with the "I found your confessional MS and now I'll give my side of the story" device, but it always seems just a little contrived.

Don't worry, the novel is still worth reading. ;) In the novel the monster finds Frankenstein's lab notes and is able to put the pieces together, but finding a vlog is much simpler, isn't it? That was actually one of the easier things to adapt.
