Drabble #16
Nov. 16th, 2006 03:32 pmIncredibly geekish fan moment:
Announcer on the TV commercial: And we'll give you a special sneak peek of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix! (accompanied by tantalizing shots from the new movie)
Me: Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! (accompanied by frenetic jumping up and down)
:P Well, onward to the second half of drabble month...
Stark Sorrows
-----
Something was wrong.
Padmé rose restlessly, unsure what to make of the sudden unease that had come upon her. It seemed, somehow, to center on Anakin. She turned to the window and gazed at the cityscape sprawling before her, as if hoping to catch a glimpse of him somehow. The notion was absurb, but it gave a direction to her worries. It was true that Anakin hadn't been quite himself lately. The dream that haunted him so -
Padmé closed her eyes. It haunted her too, though she had hidden her own fears for Anakin's sake. She had not forgotten the horrors resulting from his last troubled dream. And it seemed that none of her false assurances could bring him the peace he craved.
Something cold seemed to run down Padmé's back. Fear. A shudder ran through her. Grief. As if Anakin were standing before her, she could see the anguish in his face, the single tear that spoke of stark sorrows. Her imagination, it must be. Nevertheless, her heartbeat quickened, an anxious rhythm that would not be calmed. Somewhere across the way, she knew that Anakin's heart was pounding too.
I'm in agony...
She bowed her head.
