A Thousand Stars: Episode II, Part 20
Apr. 6th, 2023 09:01 amAfter his unsettling tour of Kamino's facilities, Obi-Wan reports back. This is a fairly quiet, dialog-heavy scene, but it carries some subtle contrasts and subtexts.
Ostensibly, a peaceful place, with Mace and Yoda in meditative positions. But Obi-Wan's hologram is stormy, beaten about by wind and rain. His message will serve as a harbinger of doom for the Jedi.
He brings up the mysterious origin of the clone army, and asks about Sifo-Dyas. This prompts an immediate reaction from the Masters -- wordless, but quite dramatic relative to their usual serenity.
A shared look between them. Fraught with meaning, unspoken dread. The Jedi are waning in power. Beset by foes who remain ever-elusive. The storm is coming.
Next time, the storms continue....
