Less than two days now....
Jul. 19th, 2007 01:00 pmI'm still essentially spoiler-free for the seventh book, and I think my Internet use has been low-key enough to keep it that way. I'll be staying entirely away from all forms of media once the book has actually been released, since I'm sure they'll be blazoning gigantic spoilers everywhere before I've had the chance to finish reading it. And it will take a little while to read it, because my husband and I will be reading it out loud together (otherwise we'll just fight over who gets it first) and even though we'll be picking it up at midnight tomorrow/Saturday, he'll be going off to work till noon after that....so it might be, horror of horrors, Monday before we've finished it. :P Anyway.
I had a nice birthday. Nothing particularly special, but I took a break from doing dishes and other such drudgeries. Let the messes pile to the ceiling; it's my birthday! Not much fun cleaning up the next morning, but dishes get dirtied no matter who was born that day. My husband got me a lovely present: a Moosebutter CD. Just a goofy a capella group I knew of from college, but this particular CD includes a song entitled "Harry Potter" set to the tune of "Pretty Woman." :D Lots of fun. (On a previous CD that we also own, they have a song called "Star Wars" set to the tune of various John Williams pieces. Great stuff). So the Harry Potter song includes a few lines that are very, very true to life: "Harry Potter, please don't end/Harry Potter, you're my friend" and then "Harry Potter, let me look/At the end of the seventh book." Heh. It's funny how I really feel both ways - I never want the series to end, but I can't wait to read the final book, but then it will be all over, but I have to know how it all turns out....anyway. I had a dream last night that I got the seventh book, and discovered it was all about the trio setting up a pizza parlor. I was furiously disappointed. I've got to find some way to distract myself until tomorrow night....
