Take a look at this! www.theonion.com/opinion/index.php?issue=4028
Okay, so it's a parody. Still. Heheh.
In other matters, John Williams is the king!! Let me pause for a bit of full-fledged gushing. Oh, what a genius! How does he consistently manage to create such stirring, varied, beautiful, and always appropriate music for every sort of scene? I am in constant, adoring awe!
You see, one of my birthday presents was the POA soundtrack, and for all the things I disliked about the film, the music was definitely not one of them. I adore it, and listen to it every chance I get. Now I can just run it through my head without even having to play it. The Double Trouble bit that is actually a variation on the original Harry Potter main theme (Hedwig's Theme), the wild swing music for the Knight Bus that's reminiscent of the Cantina Band, even down to the steel drums, the unaccompanied recorder playing the haunting Window to the Past, the delightful medieval sound of Hagrid the Professor which I'm fairly certain includes krumhorns in its chorus (glorious Middle Ages instruments that sound like ducks and absolutely demand your attention with their absurdly brash sound - oh, I miss my krumhorn! Well, I was only borrowing it from the School of Music at college, but I dearly long for one of my own...anyway), the cheekily classical waltz for Aunt Marge, and the subtle weavings of the original themes with the new ones. John Williams has exceeded my expectations for the trillionth time.
Just a week and a half till Boston - counting down the days now...
