Star Words: Episode IV, Part 29
Oct. 3rd, 2019 03:18 pmFreed at the last minute from the trash compactor, our heroes make their way into the corridors of the Death Star. It is vital that they not attract any attention if they want to get to their ship safely. Probably not wise to make use of their noisy blasters unless absolutely necessary. Which Han immediately does, directly against Leia's protests. True, he's trying to placate a whimpering Chewie, but this isn't the first time during their misadventures that he has shot an ill-advised blaster bolt. Leia is fed up. I don't know who you are, or where you came from, but from now on, you do as I tell you. This is a delightful speech, but I'm even more fond of the terse line she offers to Han's angry reply (I take orders from just one person: me!)
"It's a wonder you're still alive."

And follows it up with "Would someone get this big walking carpet out of my way?" Completely unintimidated by the massive Wookiee. I suppose there's not too many real-world scenarios that fit that line, but I'd love to come up with one. It's just so marvelous.
Well. Han has clearly met his match for sarcastic rejoinders. Watching their verbal sparring is one of the most entertaining parts of this film. And look at her, glaring up at him, making up for her smaller height with a positively commanding demeanor. She certainly inherited her mother's spirit. Han's response is nearly as whiny as Luke's Tosche station line. No reward is worth this! Too bad; you're stuck with her, buddy. And you might eventually be glad for that.
Next, a portentous reunion.....
