Not much dialogue needed as the search goes on for Luke. There's an interlude inside the base where it becomes clear our heroes won't be making it back before nightfall, but even then there is so much more spoken with Leia's face than any words.
And look at the vast, relentless white of Hoth. So many shots of small lonely figures against an endless white backdrop. It becomes all the more evocative when Luke glimpses an image of Obi-Wan only for it to dissolve into a figure of a tauntaun. From Luke's perspective, it might all be hallucinations from a mind descending into the delirium of hypothermia. But it also nicely joins up the imagery of his physical rescuer with his spiritual rescuer. Once his life is saved, he will begin the work of training his soul.
