Yay! SW love!

There's been plenty to make me feel down this week - Luke's stalled potty training progress, and the entire family getting sick with the stomach flu. Emma's still sick with something else, and the medicine's not working (she often throws it right back up again) so we need to take her back to the doctor tomorrow.

But yay! Episode II is on television! Oh, they're cutting out stuff, which makes me very angry (um, hello, the fireplace scene is CRUCIAL in Padme and Anakin's relationship!! I don't care if the dialogue bugs you!) but still, even though I can watch it any time on DVD, I'm just all giddy to watch it now.

Oh, and also Luke went in the potty today. I'm very excited...it was probably a fluke, of course, and may not happen again for another week...but still. I only wish I had seen it - his daddy was with him in the church bathroom (a public bathroom - imagine that).

Yay Luke! Did he get a brownie? (I hope you saved a few for yourself :))

Well...silly mommy forgot to pack one, since we were in a big hurry to get to church on time and she figured "Well, what are the chances he's going to go while we're out?" However, my husband took him back to nursery afterwards and asked desperately if they had some sort of special treat he could give Luke. So I think we showered enough praise and goodies upon him that he might have gotten the idea it's something desirable. He hasn't gone again since then, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

And we're actually supposed to eat the treats ourselves, right in front of Luke, after we've done our business in the bathroom, so he can get the idea of how one acquires such goodies. Seems a little cruel, I guess, but once he can make the connection he can earn brownies as much as he pleases.

Hi there! *LA/A21 waves again* Mind if I friend you?

And I sympathize with your grouching about the AOTC cuts - I know I cussed a few times at the TV before I ranted on my LJ. ;) ("I thought we had decided not to fall in lo... oh, wait, that was cut, wasn't it? Never mind baby, let's make out!") I can understand at least trimming down the fireplace scene, as it is one of the most dialogue-heavy scenes in a largely action-oriented movie. But chopping it completely? No. As you said, regardless of what you think of the dialogue, the scene's way too important to P/A's characters.

And yay for pottytraining milestones! :)

Sure you can friend me! I'll reciprocate, if that's all right with you. :)

(Yeah, the love pledge scene makes absolutely no sense with the fireplace scene being cut entirely. In fact, maybe this is because I'm a teensy bit biased, but it seems to me that the weight of the prequels; even the saga as a whole, rests largely upon Anakin & Padmé's relationship.)

Not a problem, go ahead. :)

Well, I have a teensy bit of a bias too ;), but I do think that belief does hold validity. After all, it's his desperate love for her that leads to the decisions that make him Vader, and it's their relationship that conceives Luke and Leia. Without their relationship, you don't have Episode IV-VI, and you have less base for the idea that Vader was once a person capable of deep love, who can still love and be saved. But that may just be my bias talking. ;)

Thanks. :) Definitely one of my favorite moments out of RotS.
