A successful move!
Internet access is a bit less convenient here than in our new home, so that's the reason for the long break (not that anyone's reading!), but other than that I can't find too much wrong with this area. It's great! The neighborhood is nice, there's parks in an easy walking distance, we're just minutes from my mother-in-law's home and my husband's work, and our apartment is so nice I'm positively in love with it. My only complaint, if it could be called such, is that there's too much room, but of course I have no doubt it will fill up quickly as we acquire various little bits of furniture. And we have maybe a little over half of our stuff up here at this point - the rest is stored in my parents' home in Pennsylvania, and will be gradually brought up here over the next few months. It's stuff we can live without for a while (though I miss a lot of the books!!), and meanwhile I'm amazed at how much we were able to get up here in two vans and a truck. I'm so glad we didn't have to rent a moving van - sure, we'd have all our stuff up at once, but since we have the option of bringing it up piecemeal, we should definitely take advantage of it - it's far cheaper.
So. I've been doing lots of sorting and cleaning and taking Luke on walks. The library isn't quite within walking distance, but it's a short drive. I will be very glad when the construction's done so I can use the regular parking lot! but three hour parking is just fine. Until we can find a super-cheap Internet provider, the library will be where I use the Internet. And that's probably a good thing, so that I don't spend all day on the computer. ;)
I started my third novel on Monday. I just couldn't stand not writing anything. I know I should do something with the first two novels, but I need more proofreaders! Critical ones, not nice family members who think everything I do is great. Ah, well. At this rate I may finish the entire series before any of them get published. And I'll continue revising it to death long after they're all publishing. Heh.
