Triumphant, exhausted, and exceedingly nervous

Back from Boston after a successful apartment hunt - we looked at, oh, I suppose at least 3 million apartments over the course of four days. Then we pored madly over the comparison sheets on Saturday, narrowed it down to five top choices, dashed off to my cousin's wedding and the subsequent reception, collapsed into bed, woke up Sunday and narrowed the five down the two, fretted and worried and prayed and finally settled on the one in Winchester - slightly more expensive but better location. So we hurriedly called the agent before running off to church, getting excessively panicked when he said the apartment we'd chosen had been taken on Saturday but calming down a bit to hear that the almost identical one on the other side of the house was still open. Since our week had been so very non-stressful thus far (heh), when we signed for it the next day, we had to bite our nails while waiting for the landlady to approve us and our extremely limited (that is, nonexistant) resources. While waiting, my husband visited an old employer and requested a job from him then and there, we were that worried. (He got it, too, which shows how much this employer likes and respects him - thank goodness.) And it turned out the landlady liked us just fine, and our son behaved beautifully during the interview, and we were all signed up by late Monday afternoon. And of course this is just the start of our panic, since we'll need to dredge up rent every single month, but I want to at least pretend that I can relax for some short time - I'm so completely drained, I don't even have the energy to spout off discourses about SW or Harry Potter (though the 6th title is certainly intriguing and odd!) Instead, I will just let out a weak little cheer that overall everything turned out well, that we'll be living within minutes of my husband's family, that our new home will have a washer and dryer in the actual apartment (Joy! No more climbing up and downstairs to do laundry!), that we still have more than two cents in the bank, at least until the rent's due again, and that we'll be able to pull all our stuff out of storage after over a year. And now maybe I'll take a nap....
