Again already?

Well, here I am about an hour later...what can I say? The baby's in bed, my husband's busy, and I'm embarrassed already by the vapidity of my first post. So let me see if I can find something more interesting to write about.

Here's something I'm irked about (irking is always good fodder for a journal entry, right?). This fall my huband will be entering a graduate program at a college in Boston. Thus, we need to be moving there sometime before the end of the summer. Need to, not just want to or sort of kinda ought to do. Need. Well, we've been looking for places to live, and every single person who we ask for advice begins with the warning, "Well, everything in Boston is very, very expensive, so be prepared to be shocked." Yes, we know. We're quite aware of this. But what can we do? Stay here in Pennsylvania and just have my husband commute every day? We don't have a choice here. Besides, all these people we've been asking are living in Boston themselves, so somehow, someway they manage it. It would be just a little more helplful if they could say, "Well, it's expensive no matter what, but $_______ is about average, or $__________ is on the more expensive side." Now that's something to go on. Not just everything being impossibly expensive, because, you see, we don't have a choice! Sigh. I suppose they're just trying to make it easier for us when the huge estimates start coming in, but at this point I don't think much would surprise me. What, are they all $1 million a month?

Maybe a post with less vitriol next time...
