A Thousand Stars: Episode I, Part 7
It is only for a brief time that the queen and her retinue are at the mercy of the Federation army, thanks to the Jedi. But now she must make a crucial decision: stay with her imperiled people, or plead their case on Coruscant? She is inundated with counsel, both from her advisors and the Jedi. Note the positioning of these figures, all to her left, and all looking down on her. We are well reminded of the sneering words of Darth Sidious: Queen Amidala is young and naive. You will find controlling her will not be difficult.

Yet the queen still hesitates. She does not act until a different figure speaks up -- from her right, unassuming and small. Even the queen towers over her thanks to her headdress. But when Padmé offers her quiet encouragement, Amidala listens, and immediately thereafter makes her decision.

This is a fairly obvious clue to Padmé's true identity, but even aside from that, it's a lovely study of contrasts. There is meaning in the visual situating of each character, and a reminder that authority and wisdom can appear in unexpected forms.
Next, another clue that appearances are not what they seem....
